ARIAS - John W. Thorpe was a 21 year old blacksmith before he enrolled as a musician on August 18, 1862 in Schellsburg, Pa. He mustered in on August 29th in Harrisburg. He came from Bedford County. Remarks include dying of disease on 8/2/64 at Summit House Hospital in Philadelphia.

He stood 5'7" with brown hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion. Remarks on card: "Vet. date of 1st enlistment not available. Died of disease 11/2/64 at Hosp. Sandy Hook, Md. As with a number of other Plot 200 soldiers, this death date preceeds that of NCA. It isn't known why the discrepancy.

ARIAS - James D. Wing  was drafted at age 35, probably from the Philadelphia area,  mustering in as a private on September 13, 1863 in Philadelphia. The card confirms the unit as 83rd Infantry, and the company as F. Under remarks: "Trans. from Co. "E" 9/3/64. Died 9/17/64  at Satterlee Hospital." As 2nd card simply says 'refer to Co. F'. The inscription on the stone is apparently incorrect, possibly due to someone's handwriting.

He was 23 and born in Franklin County when he enrolled on March 12, 1864 in Chambersburg, Pa, and mustered in as a private on the 15th in Harrisburg. He stood 5' 5 1/2" tall, with light hair, hazel eyes and a light complexion. He had been a laborer before enrollment.
