Shown as John N. Estes. Enrolled 3/27/64 at Montrose, Pa. Mustered in at Scranton, Pa on 4/2/64 as Private. John was 24 when he enlisted. He was 5' 11" with Brown hair, black eyes, dark complexion and was a farmer in Susquehanna County. The card indicates he died on July 31, 1864 of Typhoid fever at Philadelphia. Not quite 4 months after he enrolled.
